Our team believes that robotics is about more than building a robot; it’s about building a community. Through outreach, fundraising, education, and collaboration, we work to expand access to STEM and introduce more students and community members to the FIRST Robotics program.
At the AAPI Fair on 5/30/2026, we introduced our team and robot to numerous groups of community members. We talked and encouraged students and families to get involved with FIRST by promoting FTC and our FLL summer camp.
We participated in the 25th Annual Independence Day River Hill Parade alongside other FIRST teams. We promoted our team and the FIRST Robotics community to parade spectators and shared opportunities for the youth to get involved.
Alongside our sister team Deltabots, we hosted a 2-week summer camp from 7/20 to 7/24/2026 and 7/27 to 7/31/2026 , motivating and educating younger students through a wide range of STEM activities, with a particular focus on FIRST LEGO League (FLL).
We attended Police Night Out on 8/4/2026 in Columbia, Maryland with brochures about our team and FTC. Not only were we appreciating the first responders in our community, but we were also encouraging young members of the community to discover and participate in FIRST Robotics.
Proposed Outreach Event
We will host First in Motion, one of the events in the Maryland STEM Festival 2026. The event features robot demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and presentations for a large audience. The event’s goal is to introduce more people to robotics, motivate students to pursue STEM, and encourage community support for the FIRST program.
Our Instagram helps us reach people beyond our local community. We regularly share robotics-related content, team updates, and information about FIRST to promote STEM and robotics opportunities. As it slowly grows, we also connect with international viewers and other teams!
OSH Cut
OSH Cut is a custom metal manufacturing company that supports our team with a 50% discount on purchases.
Fabworks
Fabworks manufactures custom metal parts and supports our team with a 5% discount on purchases.
Chipotle Fundraiser
Our Chipotle fundraiser generated more than $150 in profit, helping support our team’s activities and expenses. We also promoted this fundraiser at the Miller Branch Library where we interacted with our community about our DECODE robot and how to get involved with FIRST and other STEM opportunities.
BIOBUZZ Season Kickoff Event
At the BIOBUZZ Season Kickoff Event at APL, we hosted a workshop focused on the hardware design process for the upcoming season. We shared our experience and walked participants through our approach to designing and developing a competition robot.
Our Impact
Through our outreach efforts, we have connected with thousands of community members, students, industry professionals, and FIRST teams. From introducing young students to STEM at summer camp to collaborating with international teams and mentoring rookie programs, we aim to make robotics more accessible while strengthening the FIRST community around us.
